The Blues Cricket Academy offers individual and group private cricket coaching sessions in Brisbane at the University of Queensland’s prestigious WEP Harris Oval. The Academy also offers various cricket clinics throughout the season.

At the Blues Cricket Academy we provide first-class cricket facilities as well as experienced Cricket Australia accredited coaches who focus on the basics of the game to produce adaptable, versatile and intelligent cricketers.

We welcome cricketers of all ages, genders and skill level.

WINTER PROGRAM

27 MAY to 12 AUGUST (12 weeks) - Every Monday 5.30 - 7.30 PM

WEP HARRIS OVAL, ST LUCIA

This 12 weeks program aims to develop cricketers from ages 13 - 16 as they transition from junior cricket to Premier cricket. Cricket Australia accredited coaches will facilitate the development of cricket skills, game tactics and strategy. In addition, the coaches will provide a detailed analysis of each individual's progress. 
 
$660 for 12 weeks
$550 for 10 weeks (for those who will be away during the school holidays)

HIGH PERFORMANCE PROGRAM

31 MAY to 16 AUGUST (12 weeks) - Every Monday 6.00 - 7.00 PM & Friday 5.00 - 7.00 PM

WEP HARRIS OVAL, ST LUCIA

This 12 weeks academy is aimed at high level cricketers from ages 13 to 16 who are aspiring to play representative cricket. The Academy will be run by level 2 Cricket Australia accredited coaches with first-class playing experience. It will be structured similarly to a professional program, with Monday sessions focusing on strength and conditioning and Friday on advanced cricket skill development. Other specialist sessions to be incorporated throughout the Academy include sports psychology, nutrition, as well as welfare and education.
 
Each participant will receive:
 
  • Detailed strength and conditioning program
  • Nutrition plan
  • Sports psychology session
  • Welfare and education advice
$1,199* for 12 weeks
$999* for 10 weeks (for those who will be away during the school holidays)

Mission Statement

At the Blues Cricket Academy we aim to promote a professional, relatable and enjoyable environment for players of all skill levels to fulfil their potential both on and off the field.

Bookings & Payment

Payment in advance is required for all private coaching sessions and can be made online via the booking system above.

Typically our coaching sessions are held Monday to Friday between 6am and 8am as well as 3pm and 8pm. For alternate times please contact us at [email protected]

Cancellation Policy

To cancel or reschedule your session we require at least 24 hours notice. Notice should be given to your coach by phone call or text message.

Less than 24 hours notice or no-shows will incur full session fees.

In the event of extenuating circumstances, contact the us to reschedule your session.

Hamish Gardiner
  • Nickname – Hammer or Hamo
  • Qualifications – Cricket Australia accredited level 2 coach, Bachelor of Arts; GDip Sports Coaching
  • Specialisation – Batting
  • Playing experience – Scotland International, Somerset 2nd XI and Surrey 2nd XI. Member of premiership winning teams in first and second grade for UQCC
  • Coaching philosophy – CARE (Creativity, Alignment, Resoluteness, Execution)
Ben Davis
  • Nickname – Benny
  • Qualifications – Cricket Australia accredited level 2 coach, Bachelor of Primary Education
  • Specialisation – Leg spin bowling and batting
  • Playing experience – NSW country youth teams, member of premiership winning teams in first and second grade for UQCC
  • Coaching philosophy – Have fun, try your best and be accountable for your actions.
Jack Clayton
  • Nickname – Clayto
  • Qualifications – Cricket Australia accredited level 1 coach, Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Sciences (2 nd year)
  • Specialisation – Batting and off spin bowling
  • Playing experience – Queensland youth teams, QAS squad and a member of premiership winning teams in first and second grade for UQCC
  • Coaching philosophy – Creating a supportive and enjoyable environment where kids learn through their experiences.
Paul Woodford
  • Nickname – Woody
  • Qualifications – Cricket Australia accredited level 1 coach, Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Sciences (Hons)
  • Specialisation – Wicket keeping and batting
  • Playing experience – Member of premiership winning teams in first and second grade for UQCC
  • Coaching philosophy – Build positive and professional relationships with athletes at UQCC by ensuring that they continue to learn, enjoy their cricket and achieve their goals.
